Own A Well Project

Its very name means “water,” yet Nicaragua faces the Global Water Crisis… The poorest Nicaraguan citizens and most remote barrios face life-threatening danger every day they drink the dirty and often contaminated water from their hand-dug wells. Facing harsh soil conditions and economic obstacles, Nicaraguans need clean water. They need your help!

ownawell Own A Well enables Rotary clubs both large and small, corporations and individuals to take part and have ownership in the Nicaragua Water Well Drilling Program, a viable and vital international project started in 2002 by the Rotary Club of Tulsa, Oklahoma, District 6110. The mission is to drill water wells that provide clean water to the poorest communities in Nicaragua. Major support has been through Rotary clubs and districts nationwide, the Rotary Foundation, District 6110, and many other individuals and organizations, including Saving Little Hearts of Nicaragua.
